MINI VAULT FESTIVAL

If the kids need to let off steam, but the thought of a baby gym makes you want to unravel a paper clip and stick it in your eye, then the Mini Vault Festival is where it's at. Eschewing primary colours and 'the wheels on the bus' for an urban aesthetic and the Arctic Monkeys, the Waterloo Vaults is where the cool kids hang. Think jelly fish made out of bubble wrap (ready for popping), comedy gigs for kids (book ahead) and an entire room dedicated to arts and crafts hyperactivity. There's giant Connect Four games, oversized Noughts and Crosses and enough hula hoops to keep even the most E-colour-fuelled urchin schtum. Squint a little and you could be in an underground club – there's even a bar. A parental win-win. we'd say. Runs until 8 March and entrance is FREE. Go here.

Baby changing facilities: yes, but definitely need a mat.

Buggy parking: yes, but keep an eye every so often.

Food and drink: yes, but not a huge selection. Free apple juice and water for kids.

Booking: Entrance is free, but individual events (like kids comedy) need to be booked in advance at a cost.
