I've just invested in a new pair of Nike Air Huaraches. A firm Nike Thea stalwart, I decided to venture off that more feminine footwear path and into a bolder, brighter, slightly more 90s realm.

The Huarache originally landed in 1991 – in the midst of a golden era at Nike, when bigger was better. It made a cool statement of futuristic intent with ammoth midsoles and a coalition of silky mesh and synthetic ‘tumbled’ leather that sealed the deal.

Marketing guff aside, these kicks are all about the bass. That sole can venture into muddy playgrounds and still come out relatively pristine; they're the new mama tyres. Nike Thea, it's been emotional but there's some new kicks in town.
